Wed Jan 1 2 Operation Sailfish Palm Beach 2022Operation Sailfish Palm Beach 2022The 2022 Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series on January 12-16 with Operation Sailfish. With a new season comes some exciting new updates. Stay tuned! On January 12, 2026 an infantry of fishing teams will converge on Sailfish Resort & Marina to prepare for Operation Sailfish, Leg 1 of the highly touted Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series. Their mission: 2 days of battle against sailfish on the high seas off West Palm Beach, FL. What’s at stake? An $800,000 purse and the champions dog tags will have teams focused and ready to make every release count! Over $75,000 in meatfish money is on the line for teams that like to chase meatfish also. The military undertones of Operation Sailfish were created in honor of true American heroes – our United States Military. A signature ‘Take a Hero Fishing Day’ is hosted during the tournament to thank them for their incredible service. Operation Sailfish proudly supports its charitable partner, Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families that can thrive in the communities they’ve worked hard to protect. Show your pride for America and our military heroes and join us for Operation Sailfish on January 12-16, 2022! The GTR’s are just like your favorite inshore fishing tournaments, but instead of reds and trout, we’re weighing in derelict fishing gear, plastics and marine debris for the chance to win more than $25,000 in prizes! This free event will be held at Whitey’s Fish Camp, 2032 County Road 220, Fleming Island, FL 32003 and boaters, paddlers and beachcombers are welcomed! This event will take place during the bi-annual crab trap fishery closure, and will target plastics and derelict traps (which are abandoned but continue to “ghost fish” unattended and deplete essential marine resources in the St. Johns River). The Ghost Trap Rodeo Event Series, funded by NOAA, is a family-friendly event dedicated to improving and maintaining the health of Florida’s sensitive marine environments for the longevity of our shallow water fishery. Registration is FREE and fun for the whole family. By participating, you can enjoy a complimentary lunch and receive a swag bag too!
