On Saturday, March 2nd at Port Sanibel Marina, we will host a kids only fishing tournament to benefit The Boys and Girls Clubs of Lee County.

Cash prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 21st place teams for a Grand Total of $5,000!

There will be a raffle and silent auction to benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Lee County!

The SWFL Junior Angler Championship will be open to participants who reside in the State of Florida and are ages 4 – 15 years old. Participant must be accompanied by an adult (age 21 year of age or older). The tournament will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Port Sanibel Marina located at 14341 Port Comfort Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Each angler is their own “team” fishing from the same boat. There may be more than on “team” fishing on each boat. Each angler must pay an entry fee of $75.00 per person for entries received by 8:00pm March 1, 2019. The entry fee of $75.00 will be good for up to ONE person.

Proceeds benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Lee County. Registration opens at 8am on January 25, 2019.

Each adult must be accompanied by at least two children. There must be one supervising adult on each boat per team known as “The Captain”. Teams must fill out below registration form and submit full payment. You may also print registration form, fill out, and mail/submit payment to ) Beasley Media Group located at 20125 S. Tamiami Trail, Estero, FL 33928, during business hours (Monday-Friday | 9am-5pm) OR mail it in to 20125 S. Tamiami Trail, Estero, FL 33928 ATTN: “SWFL Junior Angler Championship”.

All entries including payment must be received by March 1, 2019 at 8:00pm Eastern Time (“ET”) regardless of postmark.

March 30 Grand Slam Plug Tournament
(1 trout, 1 redfish, 1 snook- Artificials only)

The Kiwanis Club of Cape Coral is sponsoring its 31st Annual Free Fishing Derby for boys and girls ages 5-15 Saturday, March 30, from 8:30-11 a.m., at the Cape Coral Yacht Club pier. No advance registration is necessary but the derby is limited to the first 300 kids. Come to the pier and check in at 8:30 a.m.

All participants will receive their own rod, reel and bait. Trophies will be awarded to the boy and girl with the biggest fish, smallest fish, most fish and the one with the most unusual catch.

A variety of door prizes will be given away at the end of the event. The grand prize will be a $400 half day fishing charter with Captain Russ Walker. (See Tidewalkerchar-ters.com) You must be present to win. The Kiwanis Club urges parents to attend and younger participants must be accompanied by an adult.

This annual event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club in hopes of getting more children involved in fishing, a hobby that lasts a lifetime.
