A Tarpon Fishing Tournament for All Ages and Experience Levels
The Don Raimey Classic is a family friendly Tarpon fishing tournament event that provides anglers of all ages and experience levels the opportunity to fish for the elusive Silver King in a fun and low-pressure environment.
The tournament was inspired by local entrepreneur and avid angler, Don Raimey, Jr. whose courageous spirit and love of the water inspired so many who knew him to get outside and experience the unique beauty of Southwest Florida and the sport of fishing.
All proceeds from The Don Raimey Classic go to directly benefit local charitable organizations.

South Seas is proud to announce the first annual South Seas Tarpon Tournament, taking place on Friday, May 17, 2024. Partnering with Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide life-changing scholarships for the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military and first responders, this tournament aims to raise $150,000 to fund local scholarships. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has been providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members and first responders.
Enjoy a great day on the water knowing your contributions are making a difference in the lives of deserving military and first responder families in the community. Following the event, South Seas will host a reception with food, prizes, and entertainment.
Schedule of Events
Thursday, May 16
Captains Meeting — Time and date will be released closer to tournament day
Friday, May 17
6:30 AM — Lines in the water (honor start) 3:00 PM — Lines out of the water 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM — Verification of winners (see FAQ) 6:00 PM — Dinner and awards presentation
Boca Sandbar H2O Musicfest is by far the biggest and baddest sandbar party of the year and always fun!
I will be paddling out at 8am and stopping at Dog Island for the first drink of the day:)Unless i decide to take the other route!
I have been to every one of these organized events by Big Boyz Toys Expo and they go all out with the floating barge as a stage etc.
It’s never too early to start planning:)
I may or may not be renting a house again this year for the Memorial Day Weekend.I won’t decide until early 2024.
