Get ready to celebrate the return of Offshore Powerboat Racing to Fort Myers Beach. This is not just another points race, this is the National Championship Race which will see the culmination of the entire OPA race season crown a Champion. Only on Fort Myers Beach do you have so many up close viewing opportunities to feel the Roar of these amazing Boats going past you at up to 180 mph. The entire race will be visible anywhere on the beach from the pier to mid-Island and on the water in the spectator anchoring area.
The party will kick off on Thursday October 10th with a parade of race boats over the bridge and onto Old San Carlos Blvd for a street party. Boats will be on display in the streets with live music, food and a chance to see the awesome race boats up close and to meet the teams that make it happen.
The Race Village opens Friday at 9 am at Salty Sam’s Complex with race teams and boats available for viewing and interaction and vendor displays. Teams will be testing on the race course Friday so there will be plenty of action on the water as well.
Saturday brings three races to our beautiful beach front with more viewing options than other races this season. You can choose to watch the races with unobstructed viewing from one of our host water front restaurants, a VIP Waterfront Table, aboard a boat in the spectator anchoring area, in a beach chair, or even from your raft floating in the water.

    The 23rd Annual Charlotte County Boat Show is back at the Charlotte County Fairgrounds, January 11-14, 2024. The premier boat show in Charlotte County features hundreds of boats from all the major dealers, plus loads of marine accessories and services. Boats are spread outdoors throughout the fairgrounds with accessory booths inside the exhibition hall. Visit the new Be In The Know Zone, where you can get lots of valuable boating info and learn fishing tips and tricks from local charter captain Fishin’ Frank.

    The 35th Annual Bonita Springs Boat Show once again makes a splash at the Bonita Springs Poker Room, February 29- March 3, 2024.

    We are heading into the best time of the year for boating, and this is a great opportunity to set yourself up to get on the water and enjoy boating in Southwest Florida’s beautiful waters. There is a boat for every budget with hundreds on display by all of the area’s major dealers. In addition to boats, you will find plenty of marine accessories, engines, electronics, boat lifts, services, and how-to boat info.

    Conveniently located off Bonita Beach Road, there is plenty of free parking, and admission is just $10 for adults and free for children under 16 (with a paid adult).

    I will be paddling out at 8am and stopping at Dog Island for the first drink of the day:)Unless i decide to take the other route!
    I have been to every one of these organized events by Big Boyz Toys Expo and they go all out with the floating barge as a stage etc.
    It's never too early to start planning:)
    I may or may not be renting a house again this year for the Memorial Day Weekend.I won't decide until early 2024.
