Poor Girls Sailfish Tournament
Held at Whale Harbor, kick off is Tuesday with fishing Wednesday for this large regional charity competition that typically draws more than 200 anglers.

The fishing challenge offers ten trophies, including first, second, and third place teams. Prizes are also given for Grand champion and runner-up grand champion anglers, and the largest dolphin, kingfish and tuna.

Entry fee is per angler, and includes the kick-off party and awards banquet. Not For Profit, 100% charity.

    The Green Wave Inshore Classic is a photo-catch-and-release fishing tournament with all proceeds benefiting the Fort Myers High School Athletics. Cash rewards will be paid out to the top 4 teams with the longest combined length of one (1) Snook, (1) one Redfish, (1) one Trout, and (1) one Mystery Fish. Teams will also have the option to register for an additional $2,000 in bonus money. $500 will be given for each of the following categories. Big Trout, Big Red, Big Snook, and Big Mystery Fish. With an entry fee of $495.00 per boat (bonus categories are optional) and a GUARANTEED cash purse of $6,250, you and your crew will want to get registered today!

    This unique inshore fishing tournament allows teams (up to 4 anglers per boat) to launch their boat at any boat ramp, fish their favorite holes, and text in photos of their catch via the Snook & Gamefish Foundation App.

    I apologize for the time this has taken to make our final decision.After looking at the past years of our beloved Casting for Cats Womens fishing tournament our number of lady anglers has dropped each year, in order to keep up with our ever changing time Casting for Cats will be changing it’s format. Now we will include women anglers fishing with there Captain or there husband to become a team event We will still have a Grand Champion female angler but we will also have other division . We are hoping this change will bring in more anglers male and female to cover the cost we all incurred by having tournaments. With this new change we now will be challenged with a new set of rules to make it fun and fair for all. We feel we need to ”Paws” to make these changes . We have just booked the Islander Resort for Oct.17 and 18 2024 . Thank you for so many years of your support we greatly hope this change will keep this tournament here for many years to come.
