The Lee County 4-H Foundation. Inc.’s annual family fishing tournament.

About this event

The Lee County 4-H Foundation. Inc. hosts this annual family fishing tournament which funds the Leanne Yancey 4-H Scholarship Fund.

The Leanne Yancey 4-H Scholarship Fund was established in 2009, to honor a beloved 4-H member and leader who is remembered for her unselfish mentoring of Lee County 4-H youth.

Scholarships are awarded each year to Lee County 4-H graduates who apply and want to further their education to attend college or vocational school training.

Tournament Guidelines

1. This is a Catch & Release tournament. No fish are weighed.

2. Anglers are responsible to follow all State and Federal fishing regulations.

3. Anglers may fish from shore, bridge, pier or vessel. Fish must be caught with a rod/reel/line and hook using live bait or artificial lures.

4. Fishing for this tournament may begin at 7:00 a.m. or at safe daylight from any location.

5. Each angler/team may turn in total inch measurements of 1 Redfish, 2 Trout and 1 Mystery fish (announced at Angler meeting).

6. Total combined measurement of all 4 fish is used to determine winners.

7. Anglers must take a photo of each fish caught with their index card and the fish measurements, and record the total inches of each fish caught on the official Tournament record sheet.

8. Tournament check-in will begin at noon and not later than 3:00 p.m. at the designated official check-in station with your official Tournament record sheet and photos of all fish located at the Lee Civic Center Fair Grounds.

9. Tie-breakers are determined by the first angler/team checking in at the official check-in station.

10. In the event of unsafe or inclement weather, cancellation of all or part of the event will be at the discretion of the Tournament coordinators.

11. In the case of tournament cancellations, or registered anglers not able to attend, the entry fee (s) will be retained by the Lee County 4-H Foundation Inc. for the Leanne Yancey 4-H Youth Scholarship Fund.

12. Registered anglers/team captains must attend the Angler Meeting on April 29, 2022 @ 6:30 p.m. at Lee Civic Center Whaley Hall on Bayshore Rd.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd placing for the following Divisions:

· Shiner Angler (Age 7 & under)

· Junior Angler (Age 8-10)

· Intermediate Angler (Age 11-13)

· Senior Angler (Age 14-18)

· Adult Angler (Age 18 and older)

· Top Team (Maximum 4 persons per team consisting of adult and/or youth)

Any additional prizes will be announced at the Anglers meeting

Awards and raffles will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Lee Civic Center Fair Grounds.

The entry fee(s) includes a tournament t-shirt, tournament bag, and meal ticket per registered angler.

Your official tournament score sheet and index card will be included in your tournament bag.
