Grouper Grapple Offshore Fishing Tournament Fort Myers Beach 2023
The 2023 tournament comes with NEW RULES! For the Grouper Division, in order to qualify for 1st-3rd place each boat must submit 3 grouper and we’ll use a total combined weight as your score. At least one species of each Red and Scamp Grouper must be weighed in to qualify for the 3 fish aggregate. (May win with 2 Red Grouper and 1 Scamp Grouper OR 2 Scamp Grouper and 1 Red Grouper but must have 3 total between the two species.)
You can also take part in the tournament by becoming a Sponsor or donating to the Silent Auction! Grouper Grapple will benefit the Jeff Sommer Memorial Scholarship Fund and Heart on Main Street. Saturday night’s Awards Dinner will feature a Silent and Live Auction, live music and dinner prepared by Chef Rizzo at Snug Harbor with fresh grouper and snapper caught in the tournament!
The 2023 Grouper Grapple is presented by Tunaskin & Florida Structural Group and hosted at Snug Harbor Waterfront Restaurant on Fort Myers Beach.
We are happy to continue our support of the Jeff Sommer Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jeff Sommer was an integral coach for Estero High Schools Cross Country Team. He has been not only a coach, leading the team to 9 state titles, but a friend and mentor for generations of athletes including many of the Grouper Grapple founders and participants.
In late September 2022, Hurricane Ian bore down on Southwest Florida causing many individuals to lose their livelihoods and personal property. Grouper Grapple 2023 is partnering with Heart on Main Street, a non-profit whose goal is to support local small businesses and independent retailers. Through Heart on Main our proceeds will go directly to supporting the local seafood industry devastated by Hurricane Ian, more specifically Erickson and Jensen Seafood on the rebuild of their Fort Myers Beach Locations.

EARLY REGISTRATION ENTRY FEE ($600 per team): Monday, May 15, 2023 – Sunday, June 25, 2023
REGISTRATION ENTRY FEE ($675 per team): Monday, June 26, 2023 – Captain’s Meeting on Thursday, July 13, 2023
Team Entry Fee includes 5 Anglers. Additional Angler fee is $100 and Additional Guests for the Saturday Reception is $25 for Adults and $15 for Youth. Additions can be added on at the end of the online Registration Form.
