3rd Annual SNOOKTOPIA 2019 Jupiter

Aug-22-19 6:00 AM - Aug-25-19 6:00 PM

Free Event
Bring family and friends to enjoy a long weekend of chasing snook in the Loxahatchee River. This area is historically known to hold some of Florida’s largest snook. Big tarpon, jacks and sharks are very common in the river too. So bring appropriate gear.
Camping or cabins are available within the park. It’s going to be hot so come prepared.
My name is Bart Swab I grew uo fishing the river with my Dad and brother in the 80s and early 90s.This is something I’ve done since moving away from South Florida. It’s a lot of fun, I hope to see you there.
Thursday–Launching from the park in the AM and fishing within a comfortable kayaking distance to check the backwater action. Hopefully the snook are stacked back there. For the exotic fish guys and girls this is a great day to drive a hour south to Lake Ida West or one of the many other areas to chase them. Not a busy day on the water. Weekends have mad boat traffic in the lake and surrounding canals.
Thursday night — Sawfish or Burt Reynolds park. Fishing lights and/or soaking bait until…… I like to check both backwater and near inlet first. That will let us know where the better fishing is this year. Rain, discharge and seasonal snook movement is always a factor of finding them. It’s part of the fun.
Friday—(Big Day) Launching from Either the Johnathan Dickinson launch and going to Burt Reynolds or run it the other way. After last year we are going to let the winds decide more than the tides. 🏝
As quickly or as slow as you want to go.
We’ll be out there all day and most of the night.
Saturday—1130am-330pmish Lunch/social/escape-heat, midday at a local restaurant. TBA
Saturday night— Snook’n in the river. Link up with new and old friends to enjoy a evening fishing the river.
