    In order to place in this tournament, you must submit YOUR TEAM’S single largest fish for weigh-in. Your target fish is the sheepshead (Archosargus probatocephalus). To win, submit the largest fish in the tournament and get first pick in the prize pool.

    Tournament Rules and Regulations
    • ENTRY FEE / REGISTRATION: Entry fee is $200.00 per team.

    • MANDATORY CAPTAIN’S MEETING will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 on Zoom. Items required for pickup will be handed out at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall at 7:30.

    • FISHING RULES:

      • A saltwater fishing license is required for all participants, per Florida Statute 379.354.

      • Eligible fish are: Sheepshead (Archosargus probatocephalus). All fish must meet current FL state size requirements.

      • Only one legal fish per registered Team may be entered for the prize pool.

      • All fish must be caught on rod and reel. No spearing, bowfishing, or cast netting allowed.

      • The tournament will be an open launch format, there will not be a check out time. Tournament organizers will be monitoring (239) 994-6599.

      • Fishing begins at safe light, generally around 7:00 a.m., on February 27, 2021.

      • Weigh-in opens at 1:00 p.m., and closes at 4:00 p.m. on February 27, 2021. You must be STANDING IN LINE at the weigh in station to be announced at captains meeting by 4:00 p.m. All participants must comply with Coast Guard regulations and instructions.

      • WEIGHING-IN: All fish submitted for weigh-in must be in fresh, edible condition, and caught that tournament day by a team member wearing an issued wrist band. The wrist band number will be permanently tagged to the fish. Fish cannot be in frozen condition. No mutilated fish will be weighed. All decisions regarding mutilation will be made by the Tournament Committee. All fish submitted for weigh-in become property of the tournament.

      • The fish will be preserved by the Tournament Committee on ice in whole condition until the awards ceremony. During the awards ceremony, the largest fish by weight will be determined by a culling balance provided by the Tournament Committee.

    • TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE will be available during the tournament at (239) 994-6599.

    • TOURNAMENT WEATHER CALL will be made at the Captain’s Meeting. The Tournament Committee reserves the right and sole discretion as to whether or not to reschedule or modify the tournament for any reason including but not limited to hazardous weather conditions. Participation is at the sole discretion and risk of the participants. Participants release the Committee from any and all liability resulting from participation in the tournament. The rescheduling or failure to reschedule the tournament shall not render the entry fee refundable. The Tournament Committee is not responsible for any injury or harm due to unsafe weather or conditions. Four hours of fishing will constitute a tournament day.

    • PROTEST: All protests must be in writing within 15 minutes of the close of weigh-in, accompanied by a $100.00 CASH deposit. Digital photographic evidence is strongly suggested. If protest is upheld, deposit will be refunded. The Tournament Committee will review all protests and their decision shall be final. All entrants agree to submit to a polygraph at the request of the Tournament. The results of the polygraph will be considered by the Rules Committee, along with any relevant information, which in their sole discretion will determine whether the entrant will be disqualified. Failure to submit to such an examination will result in disqualification of the entrant.

    • PARTICIPANTS enter the tournament at their own risk. The Knights of Columbus, Fishing Tournament, its officials or members shall not be liable for and hereby disclaim any liability for any and all losses, damages or injuries of any kind suffered by any participants, entrants, anglers, their guests and companions, boat captains, vessels, and equipment which may occur during the tournament, including the weigh-in location at the (placeholder). By participating, each fisherman certifies that they are legally able to fish in the state of Florida according to the state, and if on motor-powered watercraft are legally able to operate that craft in the state of Florida.

    • TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR and or fishing committee reserves the right to refuse entry into the tournament for cause at the discretion of the tournament director and or committee.
